From Oct 5 and Oct 31 respectively, SIA's all business class flights from Singapore to Los Angeles including its Singapore-Moscow-Houston flight will operate on a daily basis, up from 5 times per week currently. SQ608/609, that operates on the Singapore-Seoul sector, will fly 7 times per week, up from 4 times, as of Oct 31, bringing total frequency to and from the South Korean capital to 21 times a week, up from 18 times. Extra services will also be operated to destinations in Japan. SQ616/615 will operate three times a week connecting Singapore and Osaka, in addition to the present daily flights between both cities. SIA's Singapore to Istanbul via Dubai flight will be replaced by a direct Singapore-Istanbul service that will operate up to 4 times per week. A separate Singapore-Dubai service will be launched at three times per week, bringing SIA's service to Dubai to a total of 11 times weekly. The airline will also deploy a subsequent daily Airbus A380 service on the Singapore-Sydney route, replacing the 278-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a 471-seater A380. China Eastern Airlines and its subsidiary, Shanghai Airlines, will increase the prices of their first class and business class domestic tickets, according to a joint announcement announced lately.
The price hike will influence flights on the Beijing to Shanghai route, which has the biggest group of business passengers and the highest occupancy rate, as well as other domestic routes operated by the carriers.
