Malaysia Airlines will increase Melbourne to 'triple daily' position with the release of a third everyday flight to Kuala Lumpur later this season.

The new MH146/147 season will start on 21st Nov and use the airline's newest Airliner A330 with tilted lie-flat seats, on-demand enjoyment, AC electrical sockets for charging your laptop and USB ports for leading up your tablet or smartphone.

MH146 from Melbourne will leave at 8.55am to arrive Kuala Lumpur at 2.15pm, with the comeback leg MH147 running as an overnight flight departure KL at 7.50pm to arrive in Melbourne at 6.45am the next day.

The present MH148/149 service can move from an A330 to a Boeing 777-200.

Melbourne is Australia's biggest market for journey to and from Malaysia, bookkeeping for 32 per cent of total journey between Australia and Malaysia with more than 350,000 travelers yearly.

The innovative interior will consist of mood lighting in all cabins and spacious overhead baggage compartments. The novel A330-300 has a total capacity of 283 seats, 36 seats in Business class and 247 seats in Economy class. All seats will be outfitted with AC power supply and USB port for laptops and electronic equipment.

Malaysia Airlines passengers will witness several changes to Australia flights commencing next month, as the airline shuffles its planes around on Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth services.

The news is enormously good for business class passengers, as it means more flights on the airline's new Airbus A330-300 planes, with an updated business class offering.

In Adelaide, passengers will view the new A330 cabins rolled out on all flights, replacing the older Boeing 777-200ER planes, from Sept 26.

In Melbourne, both daily Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur flights will obtain the new A330 cabins, which is also from 26 September. 

In Perth, the situation is slightly trickier. From 26 September to 29 October, Malaysia Airlines is actually plummeting flights from 10 per week to 9. All Perth flights will view older Boeing 777-200ER planes and cabins. Between 30 October and 30 November, Perth will persist in seeing older planes and cabins, but MH127 to Perth on Saturdays and MH126 from Perth on Sundays will be on the older Airbus A330. Subsequent to 1 December and until 14 February, most Perth flights will see the older Airbus A330.After 15 February, all Perth flights ,which is around ten a week will view the new A330-300 planes and cabins.

Malaysia Airlines(MAS) continues to increase the frequency of its Australian services with the launching of near-daily direct flights between Adelaide and Kuala Lumpur.

The new service will commence on March 27th 2011, and will witness a Boeing 777-200 with 35 business class seats and 245 in economy, departing Adelaide every day except Wednesday, with returns from Kuala Lumpur daily except for Tuesday.


MAS is splitting the ex-Adelaide departures so that Monday, Thursday and Saturday's MH138 flight will leave at 3 pm and arrive into Kuala Lumpur at 9pm; while on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday the MH136 will depart at 9am for a 3pm touchdown in Kuala Lumpur.

The selection of arrival times in Kuala Lumpur will offer more flexibility for passengers traveling to Malaysian capital for business and those making onwards MAS connections to other parts of Asia,Europe and the UK.

The MH139 from Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide will have a set departure time of 9.50pm for arrival in Adelaide at 6.15am the next day.

Flights from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur start from £2,161, to Denpasar and Jakarta from £2,261, Manila from £2,265, Singapore from £2,251, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh from £2,268, Phuket from £2,277, Perth from £2,817, Auckland from £2,792 or Sydney from £2,830.
