Business Class Travel » Air Travel News Air Travel NewsSaturday, July 31, 2010Korean Air, the nation's major air carrier, will increase its international airfares by up to 10 percent next month due to surging overseas travel demand by Koreans in the midst of improving economic conditions and the intensification of the local currency. ![]() According to the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs Tuesday, Korean Air educated the ministry of its decision to amplify its airfare between Incheon and destinations in North America, Europe and Oceania by 5 to 10 percent in August. Flights bound for the United States as well as Canada will cost travelers 5 percent more, while those willing to travel to Spain and other European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand will need to pay an additional 10 percent. A Korean Air spokesman stated that they had decided to boost ticket prices for some of the international routes by 5-10 percent next month to deal with growing fuel as well as other operating costs.
