  Qatar Airways to Introduce Flights to Benghazi

Qatar Airways announced lately that it will commence regular flight operations to the Libyan port city of Benghazi from November 1.

Qatar Airways serves the capital city of Tripoli in Libya but the airline was forced to suspend flights after different nations imposed a 'no-fly zone' over the African country during the political turbulence earlier this year. Qatar's flag carrier hopes to resume flights to Tripoli soon.

Airline's latest route to Benghazi, Libya's second largest city will be operational from Tuesday next week. It will be a four times a week non-stop flight from the capital city of Qatar, Doha. An Airbus A320, dual configuration aircraft will be carried out on the new route. The aircraft will feature 12 seats in First Class and 132 in Economy Class, providing sufficient opportunities for those looking for cheap flight tickets with Qatar Airways.

The new addition is part of the carrier's route expansion strategy to integrate varied destinations in its network of flights.

  Emirates Introduces Two Additional Flights To Tunis

Emirates announced lately that it is introducing two additional flights per week to Tunisian capital Tunis. This makes the number of Emirates flights traveling to Tunis to around 6.The increased services will add approximately 3,800 seats per month in each direction, targeting improved numbers of  business travelers and tourists.

Jean Luc Grillet, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Africa stated that Tunis is a noteworthy market for Emirates and these additional flights are an evidence to their increasing presence in the market since they began operations to Tunisia five years ago.

He also stated that more services means additional flexibility and choice as well as this enables easy connections to points across the Far and Middle East, Indian sub-continent, Europe and Australasia via the airline's hub in Dubai.

  Oman Air's Lavish Muscat Lounges Obtain ISO Certification

Oman Air's opulent lounges at Muscat International Airport have just been awarded ISO certification, subsequent to an audit by Intertek Semco Certification AB. The First Class and Business Class lounges, which were revealed earlier this year, have been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certificate in recognition of its quality management systems.

  Kuwait Airways to Commence Non-stop Flights from Muscat to Kuwait

Commencing November 1, Kuwait Airways will be operating non-stop flights from Muscat to Kuwait. Presently, Kuwait Airways has two flights a week with early morning departures at 0540hrs from Muscat to Kuwait, with a halt in Dubai both ways, on Friday and Sunday.

Rajan Jayaraman, district sales manager of Kuwait Airways in Oman stated that from November 1, the airlines will operate two flights a week on Tuesday and Sunday and fly non-stop Muscat to Kuwait or Kuwait to Muscat and one sector through Abu Dhabi. He also added that the Airways had always strived continuously to offer best value for money, best services on board and benefits to customers.

  Tripoli Added As The New Destination of Etihad Airways

Tripoli will before long be on Etihad Airways route map as the flagbearer of the UAE plans its newest destination.

The Libyan capital will turn out to be the fifth North African destination for the carrier.

The Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, Mr James Hogan, said the airline was planning three flights a week to Tripoli. He also added that as soon as the NATO no-fly zone is lifted, the airport is declared safe and all the suitable infra-structure is in place,they will be able to begin services.

The return flights, to be operated by an Airbus A330-200 with 22 Pearl Business Class and 240 Coral Economy seats,will be on sale within weeks.

  German Airline Lufthansa to Commence non-stop Flights

German airline Lufthansa will upgrade its Doha-Frankfurt service to a non-stop flight from October 30 thus eliminating the intermediary landing in Riyadh and slash travel time connecting Qatar and the European country.

Flights from Qatar were earlier operated from Doha to Frankfurt via Riyadh.With the opening of the winter time table 2011/12, which goes into effect on October 30, Lufthansa will offer six weekly non-stop flights from Doha to Frankfurt.

The new service reduces the flight time from 7.30 hours to 5.45 hours for passengers departing from Frankfurt and from 8.25 hours to 6.50 hours for those departing from Doha.

  Qatar Airways Launches Route To Oslo

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker has reinforced the strategic significance of the airline’s constant expansion in Scandinavia following its most recent route launch to Oslo.

The October 5 start-up of scheduled flights to Norway’s capital city complements the airline's existing services to Stockholm and Copenhagen with the Gulf carrier presently flying to three major points in Northern Europe.

The fresh route promises to be a strong catalyst to improve bilateral trade between Norway and the State of Qatar, and the Middle East in general.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker stated that public demand, enormous tourism opportunities and the common trade interests in oil and gas played an important part in Qatar Airways’ decision to open up this new route connecting Doha hub and Oslo.

  Air India Plans To Reconfigure First Class

Air India Ltd may lessen or even discard its first-class seats on most international flights depending on the result of an internal study it is conducting to reconfigure seats on its fleet to enhance revenue.

  Direct Flights to Bangalore Introduced By Bangkok Airways

Bangkok Airways a Thai private airline has introduced direct flights to Bangalore, India. The airline announced lately that the Bangkok-Bangalore-Bankgok service began from September 26.

Mr Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President, Bangkok Airways stated that their Mumbai flight that commenced in March this year, enjoyed a load factor of about 70 per cent, and he said that they hoped that the Bangalore service also would enjoy a related load factor.

The airline would function with an Airbus 319 aircraft on the Bangalore route, with 120-seat capacity 12 business class seats and 108 economy class seats. To begin with, the airline would operate five flights weekly to Bangalore, which will be improved to daily flights from December. In November, the airline plans to launch business class seats on this route.
