| Qatar Airways Commences East African Expansion |

Business Class Travel » Air Travel News Air Travel NewsThursday, December 9, 2010Qatar Airways recently announced an expansion of its East African network with 12 supplementary flights across 2 capital cities-Nairobi and Dar es Salaam. The daily Nairobi - Doha flights has been increased to 12 flights a week and from January 3, an extra two flights will take capacity up to double daily. This expansion comes after five triumphant years of operations to Kenya's capital city. ![]() The Tanzanian capital, Dar Es Salaam, at present served daily, will obtain an added four flights a week from January 2. An additional flight from February 14 will take occurrence up to 12 weekly services. Both these routes are operated with an A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class as well as 132 in Economy Class. Qatar Airways, the award-winning Doha based airline currently flies to 14 cities across Africa, counting Alexandria, Algiers, Cairo, Luxor, Casablanca, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Lagos, Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam, Seychelles, Tripoli and Tunis. Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker stated that they were pleased to initiate additional capacity to Africa and provide the traveling public greater options for air travel to and from the region.
