Iceland to be Delta's Latest Destination

Delta's latest destination will be Iceland, with the service set to commence on June 1, 2011. Once it begins flying to the capital city of Reykjavik, Delta would be the lone U.S. airline to fly to Iceland, based on present airline schedules.Delta Airlines will provide the flights from its hub at New York JFK. It will operate every day service on Boeing 757-200 jets that comprise 15 seats in business class and 155 in coach.

Delta Airlines
Gail Grimmett,Delta's senior vice president New York stated that the new flight to Iceland is an additional milestone in their efforts to be the chief domestic and international carrier in New York.He also added that they have always succeeded in offering a huge number of exclusive destinations from the JFK hub to offer customers suitable access to growing global markets. The inclusion of Reykjavik also marks the first service in Iceland for SkyTeam, the foremost global airline alliance that includes Delta, Air France-KLM, Alitalia as well as nine other airlines.

Delta Airlines added the fresh service does not influence formerly announced capacity guidance for 2011.The new Reykjavik flight will be operated as an element of Delta's trans-Atlantic combined venture with Air France-KLM and Alitalia, that offers clientele access to a faultless network of connections in North America and the European Union.
