Business Class Travel » Air Travel News Air Travel NewsTuesday, May 4, 2010Lufthansa will be joining British Airways and Air France in reconstructing its first class cabins ahead of the World Cup in May.The novel first class package will debut in May, before the airline's inaugural A380 flight to Johannesburg,carrying the German World Cup team. Lufthansa has long-established that the new first and business class menus will be designed by Michelin-starred chef Holger Stromberg,the chef to Germany's national football team. ![]() The aircraft interior design expert Michael Oakey has stated that the new Lufthansa cabins will be modern rather than colorful and futuristic, calling to mind private-jet interiors and luxury cars. The interior is said to be comprising of high-gloss wood veneers and brown and beige leather. In spite of several airlines opting to lessen their first-class offerings in the wake of the financial crisis, some appear to have opted to innovate in order to survive. Lufthansa's plan follows British Airways upgrade of first class in February, which included private wardrobes as well as electric blinds to the first class cabin.The European flag-carrier Air France has incorporated a small art gallery in the first class cabin of its A380.
