Dubai Based Carrier Emirates to Launch its First Service to Iraq |

Emirates will launch its first service to Iraq in February next year, but the launch route will be to Basra rather than the formerly planned Baghdad.The Dubai based carrier Emirates had announced back in May this year that it would serve the Iraqi capital of Baghdad from July, but the launch was subsequently delayed until further notice, due to "operational reasons" .
As an alternative, Emirates will now launch services to Iraq’s port city of Basra close to the border with Kuwait. The flights will set off on February 2, 2011, with a four-times weekly service on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday (operated by three-class Airbus A330 aircraft), and Monday (in a two-class configuration). Emirates has stated that the service connects impeccably with key industry hubs in the US and Europe. Announcing the new route His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group stated that Basra is a momentous market for Emirates. He also added that the city’s latest growth has paved the way for copious multinational companies and industries to invest in infrastructure and have seen strong potential from a number of their markets. Malaysia Airlines(MAS) continues to increase the frequency of its Australian services with the launching of near-daily direct flights between Adelaide and Kuala Lumpur.
The new service will commence on March 27th 2011, and will witness a Boeing 777-200 with 35 business class seats and 245 in economy, departing Adelaide every day except Wednesday, with returns from Kuala Lumpur daily except for Tuesday. MAS is splitting the ex-Adelaide departures so that Monday, Thursday and Saturday's MH138 flight will leave at 3 pm and arrive into Kuala Lumpur at 9pm; while on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday the MH136 will depart at 9am for a 3pm touchdown in Kuala Lumpur. The selection of arrival times in Kuala Lumpur will offer more flexibility for passengers traveling to Malaysian capital for business and those making onwards MAS connections to other parts of Asia,Europe and the UK. The MH139 from Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide will have a set departure time of 9.50pm for arrival in Adelaide at 6.15am the next day. British Airways has stated that it will commence non-stop daily flights to San Diego,California from London Heathrow as a first advantage of the official launch of the new joint business agreement with American Airlines and Iberia.The new transatlantic service to London is scheduled to commence in June 2011 and will be operated with the carrier's popular three-class Boeing 777 aircraft.

LAN Airlines resumed daily flights connecting Sydney and South America, after reducing services for the period of the global financial crisis.The Flight LA 800 presently departs Sydney at 9.55am each day, flying via Auckland to Santiago, Chile, and arriving at 12.10pm the same day.
The flights are functioning with 2 class Airbus A340-300 aircraft, configured to seat up to 260 passengers: 42 in the spacious Premium Business Class cabin and 218 in Economy Class. In an effort to make a major revamp to its services, Air France has revealed that not only are new flights to both North and South America to begin, but business class passengers will be able to utilize their fresh Premium Voyageur Cabin. Offered for those who may be flying from Britain, or catching connecting flights, the business upgrades commence at the end of 2010 and will become available on an escalating number of planes as the years progress.
Revealing that the frequency of flights to New York were being enhanced in addition to the capacity levels for Mexico and Boston , Air France will provide the Premium Voyageur cabin on long haul aircraft . Emirates airline lately reinstated flights aboard its fleet of A380s - the world's largest plane on one of its double-daily JFK routes to Dubai, more than a year after a shortage of demand halted operation on this route.

Emirates had withdrawn the A380 from JFK in June 2009 after an initial nine-month run and after the New York Port Authority supposedly spent $180 million to accommodate the oversize plane by strengthening runways, broadening taxiways and widening baggage areas. The Dubai-based company, Emirates Airline, which joins Air France as the lone airline to fly the luxury jet into New York, arrives after Emirates reported a net profit of $964 million for its Americas routes in 2009-2010, an 8.1% revenue increase. Air Canada is preparing to include on a daily basis non-stop flights from Vancouver to Japan's capital, Tokyo , part of the carrier's Asia-Pacific growth strategy to increase their profit.
The new Vancouver-Haneda route will commence on Jan. 29, complementing Air Canada's present daily service connecting Vancouver and Tokyo's Narita International Airport. Connections to partner airlines are existing to fly to places such as Bangkok and Singapore. In Tokyo,B.C. Transportation Minister Shirley Bond stated that Air Canada's Vancouver-Haneda route will raise the profile of Vancouver International Airport. She set a determined target to augment total traffic going through the Vancouver airport to 28.4 million passengers in 2020, or a 75-per-cent surge from 2009. Air Canada chief commercial officer Ben Smith stated that he was keen on doubling-up the number of Vancouver-Tokyo flights in January. Mr. Smith stated that they were looking forward to launching their newest Asia route in early 2011, granting customers more choice when flying, linking Japan and Canada, depicting Air Canada’s commitment to the growth of international air services through their hubs. Etihad Airways, the Abu Dhabi based national airline of the UAE, commenced its 'all economy' class service from October 31.The reconfigured Airbus A320 aircraft accommodates 162 economy class passengers, which is 42 more than the similar aircraft in the Etihad fleet which carrys the complete range of seating options.
The aircraft operates to Alexandria, Colombo, Damascus, Thiruvananthapuram, Calicut and Peshawar. In the month of August, James Hogan, CEO of the Abu Dhabi based carrier made a statement to the Arabian Business that the introduction of the all economy class aircraft is the beginning of a new era for Etihad. Etihad Airways operates nearly 147 daily flights to 64 destinations in 42 countries,via a fleet of 54 aircraft. Its operation is to a great deal centered in Europe and Asia, as well as Oceania, Africa and North America.
