Lufthansa Allows Passengers To Carry Additional Baggage

Germany based airline Lufthansa has announced a simplification of its baggage allowance policy that will enable passengers to carry more luggage with them when they fly.

Mostly, when an airline says it will simplify its baggage allowance policy, what that actually means is they will reduce the amount, passengers can carry with them. However, this time around, this does not seem to be the case with Lufthansa. Their policy change will increase the weight allowance allotted to passengers.

Applying the "piece concept" to their baggage policy, Lufthansa will enable its passengers to take certain number of pieces of luggage with them, free of charge, that relies on their ticket class. Economy passengers will be allowed to carry a single piece weighing up to 23 kg, business class will be allowed two bags with a combined weight of 64kg and first class passengers can take up to three bags weighing 32kg each.
