Jazeera Airways to Introduce Cairo Flights

The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) granted Kuwait's budget carrier Jazeera Airways approval to commence operating to Cairo International. It noted the consent was granted after the airline decided to discard its low-cost policy, according to Egyptian regulations.

These conditions actually include complying with the country's pricing policies, adding a separate business class as well as accommodating certain regulations regarding flight reservations. The ECAA does not permit low cost carriers to operate to Cairo Airport Airlines to protect the interests of its national carrier EgyptAir.

Jazeera Airways Group, parent company of Jazeera and Sahaab Aircraft Leasing, earlier this month established it condensed the order it placed for Airbus A320s in 2007 from 40 aircraft to 15 aircraft. The airline carried 1.3 million passengers the preceding year.
