  Lie Flat seats Launched by United Airlines

The United States based United Airlines has launched lie-flat seats in its first as well as business class sections on flights linking Incheon and San Francisco.

The so called bed seats in business class can be reclined to 180 degrees, offering comfort similar to a bed. Travelers can watch movies and television shows, play video games and connect their iPod or iPhone via adjustable video screens. An AC power source is offered for their handiness.The passengers of first and business class will be served with gourmet dishes devised by Chef Charlie Trotter along with wines suggested by sommelier Doug Frost.

Presently, the flight offers lie-flat business seats on all Boeing 747 planes serving Asia. It also has Economy Plus seats, which provides 13-centimeter extra space for economy class passengers.

The international carrier also supports cultural exchange between Korea and the U.S.David Ruch,the airline's country manager in Korea and chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM Korea) stated that in 2007, the Airlines worked together with the U.S. State Department and the American Chamber of Commerce to host the 'Flights of Fantasy' exhibition launching a few of America's most prominent craft artists to Korea.He also added that this year,it is our turn to lend a hand in introducing some of Korea's most talented musical artists to America.

  Etihad Airways Wins Skytrax's World's Best First Class Award

Etihad AirwaysEtihad Airways has won three awards for its First Class at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, based on the results of the newest Skytrax survey on 200 airlines across the globe.

The public poll, which included nearly 18 million worldwide air travelers from more than 100 countries, named the Abu Dhabi-based airline as possessing the 'World's Best First Class', 'Best First Class Airline Seat' and 'Best First Class Onboard Catering'. Skytrax awards are among the most esteemed in the aviation industry.

The annual Skytrax survey takes into account all aspects of the air travel experience as well as the quality of client service delivered by each airline's staff.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways' Chief Commercial Officer stated that they are extremely glad to have won these three awards for their new as well as pioneering First Class product and service which is now accepted as the world's best by the ultimate judges i.e the air travelers.

Etihad redefined luxury air travel in 2009 when it launched its new First Class cabin suite. The cabin includes 12 individual suites, accessed by its own sliding door and contains a personal wardrobe and a mini bar. It also consists of a 23-inch wide-screen TV LCD screen and comfortable soft furnishings and leather upholstered by world-renowned Poltrona Frau, which also supplies interiors for Ferrari cars.

  Lufthansa Recently Unveiled its Brand New World's Quietest First Class

German flag-carrier Lufthansa has inaugurated its fresh A380 super jumbo service, assuring that the first class cabin is the quietest in the world.

The A380 will take off Lufthansa's busy Frankfurt to Tokyo route from June 11, after carrying the German national football team to South Africa for the World Cup and making its appearance at the Berlin Air Show.

Lufthansa says that clients were significantly involved in the expansion of the new flag carrier, and that a calm atmosphere emerged as one of the most important needs of first class passengers.

As such, the first class cabin is equipped with sound-absorbing carpets, curtains and the aircraft's skin consists of a sound-insulating material.Traditional overhead bins have been detached in favor of individual lockers for first class passengers, and an enlarged washroom also consists of separate wash and changing areas.

Lufthansa's A380 aircraft can accommodate a total of 526 passengers - eight in first, 98 in business class and 420 in economy class.

  Emirates to Introduce Flights to Baghdad

Emirates AirlineBaghdad will be Emirates' 103rd global destination and one of six new destinations to be introduced by the airline this year including Tokyo that began on 28 March, Amsterdam,Prague,Madrid as well as Dakar.

Iraq is the last lingering Middle Eastern destination to be frequented by Emirates. The carrier’s present number of weekly Middle Eastern flights sums upto 197, across 10 countries.

To begin with, Emirates will operate a thrice weekly service on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The route will be serviced by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, providing a three-class configuration of 12 First Class, 42 Business Class as well as 183 Economy Class seats.

  American Airlines to Launch New Service from Chicago to Beijing

American AirlinesAmerican Airlines will be launching their new service from Chicago to Beijing beginning May 25.The airlines has deferred the launch date twice due to concerns about runway space as well as the landing and departure schedule at Beijing Capital International Airport.American Airlines finally worked out a schedule with the airport.

There will be 4 weekly, nonstop flights from Chicago O'Hare International Airport.On Friday and Saturday, flights will leave at 8:30pm, while Tuesday and Thursday flights will leave at 9:30pm.The return flights from Beijing will reach in Chicago at 7:49am Thursday, Saturday as well as Sunday, and at 6:49am on Tuesday.

The airlines will provide 14 First Class seats, 37 Business Class seats, as well as 194 Economy seats.

  Lufthansa take the path of Air France,British Airways with New First Class Cabin

Lufthansa will be joining British Airways and Air France in reconstructing its first class cabins ahead of the World Cup in May.The novel first class package will debut in May, before the airline's inaugural A380 flight to Johannesburg,carrying the German World Cup team.

Lufthansa has long-established that the new first and business class menus will be designed by Michelin-starred chef Holger Stromberg,the chef to Germany's national football team.

The aircraft interior design expert Michael Oakey has stated that the new Lufthansa cabins will be modern rather than colorful and futuristic, calling to mind private-jet interiors and luxury cars. The interior is said to be comprising of high-gloss wood veneers and brown and beige leather.

In spite of several airlines opting to lessen their first-class offerings in the wake of the financial crisis, some appear to have opted to innovate in order to survive.

Lufthansa's plan follows British Airways upgrade of first class in February, which included private wardrobes as well as electric blinds to the first class cabin.The European flag-carrier Air France has incorporated a small art gallery in the first class cabin of its A380.
