Qatar Airways has been awarded the Best Business Class Airline in China at the China Travel & Meeting Industry Awards,which was held in Beijing.The airline's Senior Vice President Commercial Operations East Asia & South West Pacific, Marwan Koleilat received the honor from the Vice President of Ctrip.com, Shaw Ding.

The Travel & Meeting Industry Awards is prepared by Travel Weekly China, a chief trade journal in the Chinese travel industry. The award had its debut in 2002 and since then the awards have received extensive appreciation among industry people. Nearly 30,000 readers and subscribers of Travel Weekly China as well as 32,000 enterprises and travel buyers, who attended July's China Incentive and Business Travel Meeting Exhibition (CIBTM), participated in the survey.The eminent panel of judges included 20 peak industry specialists from every section of the travel as well as tourism industry.

  Air New Zealand receives TUANZ award

Air New Zealand has won the overall Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand (TUANZ) Innovation of the Year Award that occurred at the 2009 TUANZ Innovation Awards.

If there included a theme of the awards, held in partnership with International Data Corporation(IDC) and major sponsor Voco, this year it was that while broadband and telecommunications infrastructure are important, it's the applications which utilize such infrastructure that carry real economic profits.

  United Airlines Shifted to Cash Free Environment on Transatlantic, Brazil and Argentina Flights

United AirlinesUnited Airlines announced that from September 2nd,the airline will allow merely credit and debit cards for the majority of on-board purchases on Transatlantic flights as well as on flights to and from Brazil and Argentina.In order to speed up cabin service, offer receipts and boost efficiency, cash will no longer be accepted onboard these flights, apart from duty-free purchases. The carrier initiated the EasyPurchase programme in March and ceased accepting cash on-board flights inside United States and flights to and from Canada, Mexico, Central America as well as the Caribbean from April 2009.

United Airlines will be accepting all chief credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diners Club, as well as debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logos. United Airlines will continue to accept cash in addition to credit and debit cards on flights to and from Asia. Additionally , cash will be the acknowledged form of payment on United Express flights.
