Air Travel NewsThursday, November 29, 2012
African low-cost operator FastJet is planned to release Nov. 29 with two every day roundtrip flights from Tanzania's capital Dar es Salaam to Mwanza and Kilimanjaro, in the north of the nation.
FastJet programs to flourish functions to Kenya with services from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar as well as domestic flights to Mombasa. The two nation's joint will create adequate demand for FastJet to flourish its navy to about 15 aircraft by the end of 2013, says Fast Jet CEO Ed Winter. Bookings are significantly ahead of expectations, according to winter season, and the airline anticipates almost full flights in its first few days of planned functions. FastJet's dreams go past Tanzania and Kenya, though. The airline wants to found a new business model and become the first true pan-African airline. While Kenya and Tanzania are essential markets in the East of the continent, there emerge to be plentiful possibilities in population-rich regions, such as Ghana and Nigeria in West Africa. "We do not believe in our business plan that liberalization will come in the close to future," wintry weather says. FastJet select Tanzania as its first platform even though Ghana would have been a more eye-catching industry. But Ghana has been hesitant to dump its high departure tax that is creating low-fare functions unbeneficial. Another probability was Kenya, but the nation was delayed in processing the paperwork for putting Airbus A319s on the local registry. Tanzania increased to the top of the list because it was missing a home carrier and was involved in improving air services. Wednesday, November 28, 2012
